Android notification...

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 11:59 am

When I turned my phone on just now, I had fallout shelter Notification, I assumed there had been an update so I tapped it without reading what it said. It appears there was no update and I have notifications turned off.

The message started "Vault Tec have made a few..."

I don't suppose anyone else saw the same message and can remember what it said, can they? its gone now that I tapped on it!

I saw it, and rushed here for the same reason you did... I have no idea, but there isn't a store update that I've seen.

Saw it and pressed it but it vanished. No visible update. Think a dev jumped the gun and this is a future update?

I've rewritten a message from my screenshot of the notice :

Vault-Tec has made a few adjustments to make Survival mode more...survivable. Try a new Survival Vault and see how far you can get!

I saw the same message. They'd have to update the game to change survival mode though. Still sitting at v1.3 for now.

Interesting, but specifics would be nice. Fewer incidents? Slower incident spreading? Weaker deathclaws? Higher deathclaw population threshold? Less chaining back-to-back deathclaw waves? Less annoying pitter-patter sound of approaching raiders?

The biggest problem I have with survival mode is actually the perma-death, but I guess that's a defining characteristic that won't change. I'd just rather reviving cost 10X as many caps, or something along those lines. I've adapted to the increased difficulty, but the ever looming threat of permanently losing dwellers to glitches gets to me. Had a new one yesterday, deathclaws attacking dwellers that were in a completely different room than the one the deathclaws were actually in. Almost wiped out the room, before I figured it out just in time.

Perma-death is actually what makes you care about your dwellers. Survival mode wouldn't be a challenge without it.

I've started a new since my old survival vault crashed the game. So far, I've not noticed any difference.
