Bethesda Tweets DLC and New Survival Mode Overhaul Pt 2

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 5:11 pm

This is a continuation from the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1590408-big-bethesda-twees-dlc-and-survival-mode-total-revamp/page-1 by lovefool35 regarding Bethesda's Tweet in regards of a Complete https://twitter.com/BethesdaStudios/status/697886212640665600 and announcement of https://twitter.com/BethesdaStudios/status/697885930913406976

I'm continuing the topic because the first one had alot of good discussions about the new mode and DLC but it reached post limit plus I feel we should continue talking about them until the patch for the overhaul of survival mode happens and the dlc releases which could be as early as Tuesday March 1st, 2016.

Anyway I want to reply to several people who responded to me on the previous thread:

Couldn't this be done afterwards when the GECK is released and people start making mods for it. That way they'll have a bigger selection for the mods to add to the site so it'll be easier? Doing it like this is going to screw everyone over and PC gamers should have had the GECK after 2-4 weeks of launch. It's silly.

Well yea i think any NPC or enemy outside of radscorpions and Deathclaws should die in 1 shot to the head with any gun, as it's not realistic....but this game isn't going for true realism and it'd be way easier than it is now so i don't know we'll be seeing this.

Ah so fallout 4 not having weapon and armor degrading and needing repairing is more true to the original fallouts? that's pretty awesome :D

For anyone not into twitter or facebook, the exact text of those tweets:

"We know you’re ready to learn what’s coming for Fallout 4 DLC. We’re not far off, and we think you’ll be excited."

"We’re also doing a complete overhaul of Fallout 4 Survival mode. Food, sleep, diseases, danger and more. Stay tuned."

How does everyone think they'll do the Survival overhaul? Talking about diseases, I'm not sure the focus will be on just adding basic needs tracking - but actually making the game significantly more challenging and rebalancing food and sleep to fit into that. I dunno. It's promising to see that they're finally starting to look at creating a real challenge for people that want it - their games have always been on the easy side.

maybe you'll be more likely to acquire a disease if you're not hydrated, well fed, irradiated or tired? Its a good sign either way, needs mods have always been really popular (not my thing though) and its good to see them adding stuff fans request.

It's funny, because I was just getting into the groove of my new character and now I don't know if I want to continue it before the patch. I guess I'll just dike around and restart when it hits; I feel like the survival overhaul will vindicate my decision to start the game with 10 Endurance on this character.

I wonder what kind of diseases they'll throw in. With that, I would imagine they would add a couple more new syringes for us to craft that slowly removes said disease from us. :)
