Soul Cairn - decision

Post » Tue Feb 16, 2016 2:06 pm

Hello adventurers, I would like to ask you for a help with dawnguard quest where I am supposed to go at Soul Cairn but before I can go, I need make a choice: Let trap my soul or become vampire

This choice is really hard for me because I dont know if I want to be a vampire. At the start of Dawnguard storyline I wanted stick with humans and become vampire hunter so I refused Lord Harnonā€²s gift but then I started question my choice. And after I spened some time with Serana I really like her. So now this choice is tearing me apart. I want to stick with humans and kill "bad" vampires but at the same time I want to be some beastiality and not just Nord. Is it posible to let Serana bite me and still be on humans side hunting vampires? Or is any difrend solution here than those two options?

Thanks for any advice :)

This should probably be in/moved to spoilers section rather than general chat, but anyhow:

Spoiler

1) If you allow Serana to bite you and vamp you, then you will have to cure yourself before Isran will allow you to continue with the Dawnguard.

2) If your soul is partially trapped then it is possible to reclaim those soul fragments within the Soul Cairn and thus negate the negative effects.

3) It is possible through conversation choices to convince Serana to get herself cured, should continuing as a mortal with a vamp sidekick be something you wish to avoid.

Neither choice is right or wrong, they will just take you down different paths in the game. Go with your gut, and work out any issues that your choice causes later. That's all part of the adventure! B)

If you're looking for some beastiality, or just like furries, join the Companions and marry Aela. But if you're wondering if your friendship with Serana will change if you choose not to be a vampire, the answer is no, it wont. You two will be friends either way, but no matter what you choose she wont marry you. So no beastiality with Serana. Just a lot of her complaining about everything under the sun.... and also the sun itself.... :nope: Also, you can convince her to cure herself and be boring humans together. What fun! :goodjob:

I always let her soul trap me coz I don't like being a vampire. But the damn Soul Cairn I find is so hard to navigate. I don't stay there longer than I have to, I just talk to Valerica, find the three keepers and pick up the three spell books, return to Valerica, pick up the elder scroll, find the soul gem and leave.

Becoming a vampire/VL in Skyrim has no long-term consequence because you can cure yourself really easy

Spoiler
(all you need is a filled black soul gem).

So i say, if you're not already Werewolf and wanna test something different than the original human/elf/half-beat race you started, just go for it and become Vampire Lord.

Spoiler

The best part about Vampire Lord in Skyrim is that you can get it and drop it as many times as you like (the only exception is if you already convinced Serana to cure herself).

The Werewolves (like myself) are not so lucky. You can become Werewolf only 2 times - first time is mandatory to continue in Companion questline. If you cure yourself (either by tossing a head in the blue flames and slaying your feral spirit or by becoming Vampire Lord), you can ask Aela to give you "The Gift" again. After that there's no 3'rd chance.
