Constant Loud BuzzingStatic Noise Glitch

Post » Wed Feb 17, 2016 12:50 am

A few days ago I was in a firefight with some Synths and afterwards a really loud buzzing static noise just started up and wont go away. It is really really annoying and makes me want to stop playing FO4.

The only way I have found that stops it is to open the audio settings and lower the effects bar, which now means the buzz has gone but I can no longer hear weapons fire as well.

Has any one found a fix for this? Or is Bethesda working on a fix for the next update?

To fix this I have tried doing the following (without success):

1. Ensured Radio is turned off

2. Equip fire and reload Gauss Rifle, Gamma Gun, Laser Rifle (basically every gun I have)

3. Changed companion

4. Killed myself (in game not in real life!)

5. Turn off PS4 and reload

6. Save game and do a quick reload

7. Killed more Synths

8. Return to battle scene where noise first started and wander around aimlessly whilst fire all my guns in the air

9. Enter and exit Power Armor, then blow myself up with a nuke

10. Use crafting stations (sometimes the noise stops for a few seconds after using a crafting stations)

11. Sleep

12. Beat dogmeat with Japenese Serrated Sword (just kidding, I will vaporize anyone who harms him!)

Next option to resolve issue will be to start playing Mad Max, although the Australian accent is probably just as bad as the static buzzing :)

Try this, wait in place for 73 hours and see if that clears up the script that is hanging up.

Can you load an earlier save? Does it have the same issue? Sticky effects are really quite rare (good because they are annoying) so it probably won't happen again.

Another thing to try, if the waiting does not fix it, is to take off all clothes and armor, put them into a container*. Save in a new slot, exit out and come back. See, or rather, listen to if the buzzing went away.

*you might even try putting them on the ground instead of a container

I posted about this in another thread too and I agree this is quite annoying. Loading previous saves doesn't do a thing as the effect carries over, even with a shutdown of the game. I have found that if you play in 3rd person the effect gets quieter so it's bearable.

Thanks Guys, I will give those things a try. Hope it works. If not, I will just have to bring peace, order and justice to the Commonwealth in silence!!!

*the save thing doesn't work, was one of the first things I tried.

**I have looked at some other forums and quite a lot of people seems to have this problem. The general line of thinking is that its a noise of the Gauss gun charging up but then not being fired. A solution some people have found is simply to fully charge, fire, then reload the Gauss Gun. Didnt work for me unfortunately.

CCNA - Just tried all those things and nothing has changed. Thank you for trying. Hopefully this can be fixed on the next update.

I have uploaded a video https://youtu.be/Vtq3c3SiKHw to show people that may not know what we're talking about. The beginning of the video is me getting rid of the sound by going into a crafting station or container, but it always comes right back as can be heard.

Yep thats it. When it stops after crafting there will be a few seconds of normality then a click and back to the constant buzzing.

The only solution I have found is to open audio settings and lower the effect volume to minimum, but then you lose gun shot noise.
