Fallout 4 now freezes after about 30-40 minutes play

For the past few days - I presume since an XBoxOne update, the game freezes for about 1-2 minutes on opening the Menu, saving, and autosaving.

It appears to me like a Memory Leak - Ram gets filled and has to be emptied before anything can continue. The published solution is to switch off (which should clear the memory, and does about half of the time), or to unplug the Xbox and reboot - which always works. Both these actions would clear RAM memory, hence my belief that it is a memory leak problem.

Is anyone else seeing this? I have a 500gig XBox - does it happen on the 1TB machines? If it is a RAM problem, would adding an external gard drive solve the situation? I think probably not. RAM is RAM after all.

Any chance of a corrective update? Or an easier solution than stopping the game every 30 minutes or so? It is becoming tedious!

I have had few instances where it crashes to home screen but nothing like you are having. Have you tried reinstalling in case the update went wrong and corrupted the install?

I haven't tried a re-install ... on an Xbox (this is pretty new to me - just switched from PC Gaming), how does one go about that please? Remove the disc and replace it? Or...?

Thanks...

Same! I have always had crashes when approaching DC - so some quests are a no no for me. But never had any 'general' crashes until after updates. Agree with the memory suggestion, as for me it happens after several hours of play without quitting the game.

I've tried a re install band hasn't solved either of my issues.

My 'freezes' are time related and seem independent of where I am in the game. I also have problems sometimes after a reboot of not being able to sign in - it needs several reboots - and I am Ethernet connected to the router/internet. I wondered whether it was anything to do with the fact I have only a 500GB machine - I wonder whether anyone with a 1TB machine has the same (freeze) problem. Seems I am almost alone with the freeze problem though. I'm suspicious of the machine as I also had problems with Witcher (half played at the moment, and on the shelf until I've finished Fallout - a far more interesting challenge/game!)
