As a suggestion, would be nice to have reduced loot, scaling with higher difficulty levels.
It makes the whole thing boring to dump a bunch of stuff from almost every container/encounter/etc. wherever you go.
It makes it anti-RPG. It makes it a stupid shooter.
Higher difficulty would be a perfect opportunity to have RPG fans enjoy the game more, while it would still be no problem to keep casuals (ugly word sorry) happy all the time.
