Can't connect metal prefabs

Post » Wed Feb 17, 2016 3:34 pm

I have been trying to build a new house and none of the metal prefab pieces want to connect, they just show up as red. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I would like to add that I know this wasn't an intended change with the recent update. Sometimes pieces that wouldn't connect before will, but it seems like it's only when it wants to connect.

I had this yesterday, certain sides of certain pieces wouldn't connect. Try rotating the block and see if it happens on every side.

The most common problem with building stuff is that some part of any building block is colliding with a terrain, tree, house, roof etc...

This means if you try to conect with the previous placed piece it will not go "green"

Building takes abit of work and rebuilding happens more than once =)

Small tricks is: start building the most far away or surrounded with stuff place first and work your way out.

Elevation makes building in certain places much easier, the floor tile thats is a massive concrete block is a good way to elavate an area,

negating alot of terreain troubles.

You really only need one well placed roof+floor piece that you can connect other prefabs or floors at the roof connection to get of the ground

we have been given alot of settlements to build on and they all have their quirkes to figure out when it comes to building on them.

Building is alot of trial and error but quite fun in the end, so just keep experimenting and

you will get the basics down in no time =)
