Supply lines not helping?

Post » Thu Feb 18, 2016 3:46 am

I'm under the impression that settlement supply lines are not as helpful as they first seemed to be. I don't know if I'm simply not doing it right, but I have several supply lines linked directly or indirectly with Sanctuary Hills and yet the connected settlements still don't receive the important materials to make turrets - no circuitry or other specific junk which I know has been deposited into my Sanctuary workbench. For example, Abernathy Farm was the first settlement I connected to Sanctuary, and yet I can't build turrets, only having metal available.

NOTE: I dump all of my junk into Sanctuary's workbench by default.

Any thoughts or suggestions on this? Or has anyone else struggled with this? Thanks!

Did you check on your map if all supply lines are working (you can do by pressing "c"(on PC) while looking at your map). They can get broken sometimes. If everything is working and you still can`t build , then it`s possibly a bug. I can just tell that all junk and materials physically syay in the original settlement where you drop them, but you should be able to use them when you build in other settlements.

I have some weird bug on Spectacle island with 1 kind of tables. I also have supply lines and everything works fine besides this table. If I try to build such table on Spectacl island, it tells me that I have no wood. But when I build any other wooden structure , it works normal and I have 1000+ wood. So I have to bring wood there just to build that certain kind of tables.

I haven't had that particular problem, but I have noticed that it can take a variable amount of time for a supply line to be established. For instance, hooking up Tenpines to Starlight took longer than the time it took me to walk to the former from the latter, but my Starlight-Taffington line was up and running even before the provisioner got halfway there (literally met him coming and going - or going and coming, or whatever).

This has been going on for many, many in-game days. When I check my map, the supply lines are connected where they should be.

Looking into any local workbench will only show what's stored in that particular bench. But, the base components of all connected workbenches should be available for actual building. You won't see what's in the Sanctuary workbench from other settlements, but materials can be drawn from it to build with.

I was having this problem last night. I resolved it by passing several hours sleeping at a settlement, saving, and relaunching the game. It was weird. I'd be crafting junk walls and go from having thousands of material to none to thousands to none.

Wow - never knew that. Just confirmed in-game across two settlements with steel, wood, carrots, and mutfruit. Good to know, thanks!

I'll try that out next time I'm able to play and see if it helps at all. Will I have to sleep at every settlement, or just one?
