They are everywhere!

The Mannequins. Who's idea was it to put those things in the game? especially when they do something like https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=fallout+4+mannequins&view=detailv2&&id=6AE3599EBB981B0C0A139D8496767FF3C1AD9D04&selectedIndex=1&ccid=HfDSL2Am&simid=608025842235475045&thid=OIP.M1df0d22f6026b40eafce532abd7bee33o0&ajaxhist=0! They are always there, watching your every move. I'm still waiting for one to come alive and attack me.

Bullets are useless, go with frag grenades and flamers.

Do I want to know?

The fear of Mannequins is Automatonophobia (thanks to this game I believe I have it)

While we can’t really blame a person for being scared of ventriloquist dummies (so creepy!), automatonophobia can include the fear of any inanimate object that represents a live human, animal or creature — such as animatronic creatures, mannequins and wax statues. This fear is more common in children than advlts, and those who suffer from it manage it through avoidance. We assume this means a dependence on online shopping and keeping a good distance from Madame Tussaud’s.

Whoa! I'm not scared of real life Mannequins, I just find it creepy how they are everywhere in Fallout 4. Didn't think this would happen, I honestly don't have any phobias as of now, and especially not for mannequins.

I spent ?way? too much time and ammo in the beginning on those things, screaming "Go down, go down! What does it take?"

I don't fear the manikins though. I put a silhouette into a "will / won't shoot at me" category, and kill the "shooters".

Its secret preperation for a dlc by Bethesda. An exciting link up with the BBC will see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auton added to the game (or maybe not).

I only wish you could take them into your inventory.

Then I could populate my settlement with settlers who aren't so needy.

Except this may happen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzZWmXRaT3k

Found one female mannequin behind a locked door in a small room, a huge pile of ashes and charred bones at her feet, flip lighter and cigarette in hand. I was thoroughly spooked.

I was doing a radiant quest for BOS to retrieve an artifact from Backstreet Apparel, when I had one of those things fall out of a closet, landing on my character. Scared the bejesus out of me so bad that I jumped out of my gaming chair, knocking over my drink that was at my feet. My wife come running into the room to see what all the fuss was about and started laughing when she seen the look on my face. :ahhh:

I agree, many of them are super-creepy. And that is the situation (your screenshot) that I cannot un-see when I think of the mannequins. And in the very next room in that building, there is a skeleton laying in bed with another mannequin...

One of the creepiest mannequin moments for me, personally, was when I entered the Museum of Witchcraft for the first time: turned a corner, unsure what to expect in the dark building with creepy noises everywhere, and then I see a mannequin silhouetted at the end of the hall and that freaky jump-scare noise happens. It made me jump! Seriously thought that quest was going to be more on the horror side of things...but boy was I disappointed in the end.

Its really too bad we can't use them to display armor and clothing for stores we have on our settlements.
