$20 worth of future DLC to go?

Post » Fri Feb 19, 2016 9:18 am

Automatron - $10

Wasteland Workshop $5

Far Harbor $25

Total $40, and there's supposed to be $60 worth of DLC. Will it be small ones or one bigger one?

Just random guess.

I think it will be $15 x 2 DLCs.. something wee bit smaller than Far Harbor but still exciting new experience.

Since they said over $60 I would guess that it will either be 2 x $15 DLC's, 2 x $10 and 1 x $5, or maybe a $15 a $10 and a $5. It just wouldn't surprise me at all for the DLC to be in the $65 to $70 range overall.

I'm sure there will be a huge story DLC near the end. I don't think they will be limited to 60-75 dollars worth total either, don't see why people assume that.

The Season Pass must not lag too far behind the overall price. 75$ overall to Season Pass's 50$ is already pushing it.

That's not to say that the Season Pass price won't be raised again, but that would be only after the announcement of the second batch of DLC.

How much is the season pass now? I bought mine for 29.99 (ps4) before the game came out.

I honestly believe we will still get another $20-40 worth of content. Bethesda traditionally has had three or more phases of DLC and I think this will be alongside the Skyrim DLC plan so three major DLC's and maybe a few more smaller add on's much like that of Wasteland Workshop.

E3 will likely be the time we get wave two details and trailers. With releases coming in summer into early fall.

Phase three will likely be late fall and ending at the New Year.

I believe we will get two more major DLC stories like Far Harbor and maybe two more smaller add ons like Automatron and Wasteland Workshop.

I'm guessing there will be at least one more large and two more medium.
Hoping for at least 2 more large.

Would you consider Automatron a medium DLC? Similar to Pitt, Anchorage, Zeta, rather than a large DLC like Dragonborn

Price are the same, but maybe it is due to inflation.

Yeah, I'm expecting only one more story expansion, closer to the last games' DLC in size and cost - and one or two more smaller DLCs. It would be really cool if they gave us the ability to paint our weapons at a workbench - I wouldn't pay $5 for that, but maybe a weapons pack that includes paint jobs for all new and existing weapons would be enough to justify dropping $5 on an official weapons pack?... instead of just downloading a ton of mods.

Huh, were the DLCs for 3 and New Vegas $10 or $15? I wasn't there to know... I'm still not convinced Automatron is going to add a questline with the Mechanist, but if it's at the same price as Mothership Zeta or Operation Anchorage then it probably does add at least some quests, and way more new content than I originally expected.

$10 for each game. There is likely a quest that deals with defeating the Mechanist since the outfit that the Sole Survivor is wearing in that picture with the modified Sentry Bot looks like something the Mechanist will wear. However, it looks like the first two DLC will be less quest oriented than the other Fallout DLCs since they seem like it is more focused on introducing a new mechanic to the game rather than visiting a new area or new mission content. I wouldn't be surprised if Automatron just adds one mission and adds the Mechanist's Lair as a new location.

I'd be surprised if the total value of the individual DLCs was only $60. I'm guessing there's going to be at least two more bigger expansions, and another 3-4 smaller DLCs. This first round of DLC announcements if kind of a mixed bag. The first two should be entertaining, but won't really add much to the game. The Far Harbor expansion sounds like it's going to be pretty great though.

All the DLC for Fallout 3 and New Vegas were $10, except for the NV mini ones- Courier's Stash $2 and GRA $4

Don't think Automatron will be the size of those $10 DLC so inflation?

I don't know, isn't over $60 more DLC than Beth's ever done for a game? Oblivion might have come the closest - it got a ton of DLC in different shapes & sizes, but it still only got two story expansions. Shivering Isles was huge and critically acclaimed, Knights of the Nine was much smaller but still critically acclaimed, and the rest of the DLC is mostly a matter of taste. I personally like the new player homes, the Orrery and Mehrunes Razor I think were both alright, Spell Tomes is the kind of thing that they'd just put in a patch nowadays, and Horse Armor is... Horse Armor. I'd really have to know how much the smaller DLCs went for at launch to tell you if they were worth it - even if Knights of the Nine is my favorite questline in Oblivion, I wouldn't have paid $20 for it.

I uh, don't think that's how inflation works. The value of a dollar, or the value of games, hasn't really changed dramatically in the last 5-6 years to my knowledge. Since all of the DLC for their last three games has been, IMO, appropriately priced, I'll give Beth the benefit of the doubt and hope Automatron is worth what they're asking too. At any rate, I'm sure they'll release a trailer or gameplay video for each DLC once their release dates come closer.

Whatever they do, they will save some big, main-story-related dlc for last. That has been the trend at least and it is an excellent note to end on before moving on to the next game. I think since the launch of FO4 went much more smoothly than Skyrim did, then we will see a more ambitious DLC suite. Also keep in mind, that the season pass for FO4 is only for 2016. I think the next Elder Scrolls will be quite a ways off, so it is very possible we will see dlc in early 2017. That's when I anticipate we will have the final big dlc. The only question is, what will it be?...

The Weapons/Armour addon sounds like something that Obsidian would do not Bethesda. Bethesda has not done a Weapon/Armor DLC since the dreaded Horse Armor incident.

The Enclave has been used far too much and deserve a break. Besides we already had the BoS/Enclave DLC with Broken Steel. Introducing a new enemy that focus on biology instead of technology would be more interesting.

As for Aliens, as long as it is not another Mothership Zeta DLC. Could be on the Moon or some Lost Alien City on Earth, but no Motherships.

I'm 100% in agreement with you on this comment all DLC's or rather what I call them expansion packs should all be about as big as Far Harbor or as big as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion's expansion pack Shivering Isles or even as big as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's expansion pack Dawnguard is good enough for me.

Aw, damn it, why did have to say that? :D Now it feels like there's not much more ro expect after these 3 dlcs.. Still, 2x 10-15$ dlc's could be 2 rather big ones.. Right? Right!?

Don't give up. I'm hoping Bethesda Game Studios supports Fallout 4 for three years to five years.

It seems like AAA video game development companies who will support their video games for at least three years are starting to come more and more, but very slowly.

CD Projekt RED although no one knows for how many years they will support The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt they said around late 2013 or early 2014 they will support it for many years to come.
