Next elder scrolls game can have more practical loading screens,

Hopefully they will combine it with metroid prime style seamless pre-loading mechanic.

I′d rather see loading screens go... :P

How does that work, btw? You′re playing the game and there′s a load screen and suddenly you′re playing a mini-game but before you′re done you go back to the regular game? Or does it let you finish the mini-game first?

Kinda confusing concept to me to go back and forth between games like that just because there′s a load screen.

Well I'd imagine there's a separate button that exits the screen.

Anyway, Bethesda already uses flash-based (or -like?) load screens, so it would be easy to make them have games. They already are interactive, try pressing VATS button on F4 load screen ;)

Mini games during load screens are only useful when you're playing at or below min specs(potato) and have load screens that take more than a few seconds.

None of my games load that slowly. Heavily modded Skyrim takes <10s.

Yay SSD.

My first memory of a loading screen minigame was the Breakout-esque one in Strike Commander CD. Good times.

You ever play the later Sims installments with all the expansions? It takes a while no matter what setup you use. They had little minigames (click on items) to keep people from getting bored while waiting.

Nope. Sims aren't my cup of tea.

Speaking of tea, when I played on a potato, load screens where when I used the toilet and made a new cup.

Um, good to know, I guess? They really aren't long enough to warrant mini games, are they?

They could have been useful for me when I had just started to play Oblivion because my computer then was veeeeery slow

Now it would just be annoying though.

I personally wouldn't mind them during loading screens, although I'd really like for cities to not have entrances that trigger a loading screen.

Also, I'd like some occasional (real time) puzzle-esque minigames that serve as puzzles for doors/switches in dungeons.

I like the real time 3D models that you can spin around during the loading screens in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Bethesda Game Studios should add them from now on to every single video games that they develop and sell in the future.

I preferred Morrowind and Oblivions to be honest.. Morrowind gave as some basic concept art altered to make it look like it was on an old piece of parchment.. and Oblivion gave as little sketches of areas and objects somewhat related to where you were loading into..

I found these to be much more interesting than a simple model viewer..

I do also love a lot The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind's concept art look alike loading screens as well.

Like Jackal09 said maybe we can get a mix of both.
