Help! 150 hours in and the game is glitched

Post » Fri Feb 19, 2016 8:28 pm

I cant even believe I have racked up 150 hours into this game. I am just finally getting to the institute but now every building or anyhting that i enter will not properly load. I get a blank screen with the grid from the background of the loading screen and it sometimes will load in the objects but the actual map is not loading. I've gone into some random buildings, the prydwyn and a few other places and its not loading anyhting at all. It loads the outside environment fine its only interiors. I am going to lose 10-15 hours if its a save file issue. This long into the game and its maybe frozen once but otherwise always been fine now this......I am on an xbox one. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Did you try a hard-restart of your xb1?

Embarrassingly no. I will when I go home. I turned it off from the controller and then turned it back on again forgetting you have to actually do the hard reset from the xbox when it didnt work again I got pissed and went to bed. I hope thats all it is.

If you load this earlier save, does it have the same issues?

On the more recent save, try waiting in place for 73 hours before you go into an interior. This might clear up any scripts that got weird.

i loaded a few earlier saves from before i noticed the issue but not the one that was 10 hours back. I'll give the hard reset and waiting a try and see how it goes before resorting to that old save.

Did you abuse any settlement glitches? Like the ones that allow a person to build past the limit? If so, its likely a memory issue, and you are out of luck.

Off hand, I'd try killing your toon, letting it reload the save and try entering those cells again. It's an old trick from fallout 3, that occasionally worked. Since you don't have access to modding tools, options are kinda limited.

edit: I'd also try waiting for a cell reset. I forget what exactly the time waited is for this game, but it should be easy to find. Idea being, that perhaps when the cell data changes, the bug will go away.

edit2: I just noted CCNA offered the same advice on a cell reset, silly me not reading all the replies before commenting!

Yeah, I did the whole weapons drop thing on one of my settlements but realistically I didn't exceed the limit by much and that was ages ago I haven't built anything new in the settlement in some time and have not had any issues. Besides my settlements load fine its going into interiors I am having the issue.

Try this, go to all settings, tap on disc and blueray, tap on blueray, tap on persistent storage, tap on clear persistent storage and power cycle the console. It has fixed bugs and gliches on my game files.

i feel your pain bro. I had about 7 days worth of gameplay (168 hours) and I had to start all over because my game wouldn't save.
