After finishing the game on 1.2.37, I made a new character after 1.3 was released and I've been having nothing but problems. I have been getting CTDs with no error message in the same spots. First it was when I left the vault. No amount of reloading, replacing .ini's, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling game, verifying game cache, ect has fixed this. I got around this crash by loading a save for another character that was in Sanctuary right after rescuing Preston and the others. Finally, I thought I would be able to play. Nope. During the dialog with Preston when he asks me to check out Tenpines Bluff, it crashes shortly after he gives me the Flare Gun. Same thing as the leaving the vault crash. CTD with no error message and it crashes in the same spot no matter what. The issue persisted even after a clean install of Windows 10 Pro x64 and removing the overclock on my processor/downclocking my GPU. I had to use someone's custom .bat file to downgrade my game back to 1.2.37. No crashes with this version. Also, this is with zero mods.

My PC specs are:

i5-6600k @ 4.5GHz

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 w/ latest driver

16GB DDR4 @ 2400MHz

MSI z170-A Pro Motherboard

Samsung 850 Evo SSD

Is there a fix for this, or am I doomed to play on 1.2.37 forever....

In your case and on some others, it seems the 1.3 patch has messed something up!

And it's difficult to say if it's - save, game, or system related, as i don't have any crashes with the 1.3 patch. Not a single one.

It would be nice, if your save is exactly at that particular point :..."during the dialog with him".

Also i could check if it crashes at Vault 111! (if that's the vault in question)

Also i would revert the processor clock to it's initial state at 3.5 GHz. (just make all Bios settings optimized defaults)
