Need a few pointers on how to implementent an idea.

Hey guys, I am trying to create a mod that allows bandits to yield to me, and then make me turn them into a non-combat follower.



Right now I want to focus on stage 1 of the above aim. So I took a peak at http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50292/? to see if I could learn some things about how it implemented yielding. The mod seems to work great, but it seems to run off a spell effect & "marks" enemies with a dummy spell effect - which I was hoping to avoid.



So my question is, is it possible to set up a single quest script that will be able to detect when a certain type of NPC is in bleedout in a given situation, and add them to a new faction whilst at the same time making them non aggressive?



*sigh* I love modding but I am just not pro enough to just sit down and get on with it.. always bits & bobs I just have no clue about!
