Making your own quests

I've played this game through-and-through for the past ten years, but I still find the occasional little new discovery in my journeys. In fact, I only found Dive Rock last month! But I want some unique stories and things to do, so I was wandering if anyone's ever made up their own quests for any characters? If not, try now! For example, I have one character from Morrowind who's got the same name as an NPC in Oblivion (I forget the name but he lives in the Imperial City) and I made my character an ancestor of this NPC. So I made my Oblivion character a quest to recover an heirloom that belonged to my Morrowind character (a lovely Ebony Longsword called 'Darksaber') and leave it with this NPC. It was as simple as leaving an enchanted, renamed Ebony Longsword at the bottom of a random cave and making a note to "activate" the quest after I met certain requirements (because I stopped going by the in-game journal and have been writing my own) so a long time later I went for this self-made quest and enjoyed adding a little bit of my own imagination into the game.

So what I'm wandering is if you've done something similar yourself? It'd be interesting to try out someone else's quest :)
