Raiders Are Magic

Post » Tue Feb 23, 2016 6:18 am

No seriously they have to be magic, because they out perform me in the [censored] department.

All righty so I took Artair out to go scavenging in Lexignton. And you know that catawalk, just across from the super duper mart. Well there's a crazy raider that has power armor with a fatman. Trying to play touchdown with his mini nukes. Too bad I am wise to his tricks because it wasn't Artair who got me that achievement, but another character of mine Nash.

Well I am not so worried about the raider in the power. I am more worried about the raider with the ridiculous amount of range and spread with his shotgun. I am not joking. I am down on the ground, a good couple distance with my sniper rifle. Yet, he manages from across the way to keep pinging me with a shotgun. Not even modified with a scope, with a [censored]tier range than my sniper rifle.

I'm....not even....

Raiders are magic. It's all I got to say.

Another one is whenever a Raider throws a grenade. Apparently Bethseda doesn't really understand the concept of cover. Because I manage to get out of the radius blast of the grenade that's chucked at me. I get behind some cover, not even a car, but a good size of wall that will keep some of the blast off of me.

Not according to Raiders or Bethseda, because I insta died and got exploded, behind a piece of wall, that should have absorbed all the blast radius for the most part.

And the last one is Moltov's Moltov's Moltov's.

Whoever decided to give Raiders moltovs were seriously smoking something. I do not know how Raiders can throw infinite amounts of moltovs, but apparently they can. I got int a room with some Raiders, a good group of them. I couldn't actually get into the room to kill them in this unmarked little building because they kept chucking moltov after moltov after moltov after moltov. Artair finally said f this and left.

Fallout explosions ignore terrain, this has been a rule since forever, and goes both ways, you can kill them through walls just fine in the same way.

Ai snap aims at your center, another rule that has always been, if they can't see your torso they can't hit you, you can use cover, right hand advantage, or any generic pole to soak damage for you.

I can stand behind a wall in third person lobbing fatmans at raiders in buildings behind cover without exposing myself to fire, I am an arch mage.

I would think in this day and age explosions would not ignore terrain and would adhere to the laws of terrain. What's the point of cover than? To look pretty?

Raider with the shotgun must have saved up a critical hit.

I still can't erase how many times I failed in the Auto Wrecker because a PA-ed Gunner was slamming a close-quarter nuke on me.

You'd think that was a suicide. But nope. lol. The Gunner was magically immune to the nuke.

Well, you have to remember that this a game from 2000, that looks like a game from 2010, released in 2015. That's the real magic :teehee:

Just wait til you get the glitch where you get sent to a raider location again after being sent there once (doesn't have to be for the same faction- could be any) and the raiders are lying on the ground in the same positions they were in the last time you killed them but they are alive and breathing again and you have to kill them again- they don't respond, don't do anything- except scream a little when they die-- that one is always fun. They aren't quite so high powered then but they are still magical

Oh man, you've killed the raiders so much they literally stopped caring and just accepted death

 Cover works as intended in my copy. The worst I've had is the occassional bullet hitting me when crouched behind waist high fences.
