Settlement Faction Posts

Hi all



I have -very- limited experience with modding, and I'm aware that the GECK isn't even out yet so this probably won't be possible for a while.



I'm interested in designing a faction-based mod that allows us to build a (prefab?) patrol post in a settlement - I imagine it to work somewhat like the Trading Posts we can get after bringing Bunker Hill into our influence, but with small patrols of whatever faction we finished the main quest with. The patrols technically already exist, what with the checkpoints scattered around the commonwealth etc, but I'd like them to pop in and out of my settlements like the traders do, and actually give the impression they're helping the local populace.



Now since I only have a small amount of experience in creating mods for Oblivion and Skyrim, I'm not sure how difficult this would be to pull off. To me it doesn't seem like too much of a big deal, but you never know. Things like faction flags already are only possible once some quest conditions are met, I'd use the same conditions for these new prefab posts right? And the patrols I assume could use similar scripting to the roving traders / trade posts - just with different actors?



Any help / advice would be appreciated - although obviously I won't be starting this until the GECK is out. I'm really just putting this down here so I actually remember, heh.
