Stuck in the Launcher

Post » Tue Feb 23, 2016 11:20 am

Hey Members,

for some reason my Steam Version of Fallout 4 won't start. When I click play on the steam library it opens the launcher. After I click play again in the launcher it closes and a message from Windows appears with the message if I allow Fallout 4 to do changes on my Harddrive. I click yes then the launcher closes and opens again. If click play again the same thing happens over and over again.

I reinstalled the game 3(!) times and already tried to fix it via the steam repair tool. Also I deleted every folder to have a clean installation. But nothing helped. Also tried to install on an SSD and a normal HDD.

Any Ideas? Maybe I can delete some leftovers in the registry or something like that?

PC:

Windows 10 x64

GTX 960 4GB

i5 4590 4x3,3GHZ

16 GB RAM

Every driver is up to date.

What about u run Fallout4.exe as administrator? Sound like permission issue. If it doesnt work, create a new user account with administrator rights (added in administrator group) and install steam with this account and thus run fallout 4 using this account.

Delete all ini files from those two folders:

C:\Users\[Your Username]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4

...and verify your game cache files through steam.

----------

Then restart steam in offline mod and...

...as langnao stated above, try to start Fallout 4 as an administrator but start the game from inside your Fallout 4 folder! (so not from steam)
