Only the BoS buys the Technical Documents and Blood Samples. Unless you mean normal vendors in which case I guess it's whoever gives you most discounts and buys such stuff?

Well, before you enter the Institute I think it's completely reasonable to side with the Brotherhood in hopes they'll help you find Shaun. Granted, they aren't any help at all, but still. Reasonable motive to sign up and play nice for a little while.


Then they want to kill your son and destroy everything he stands for. A perfect reason to decide to blow up their floating lump of scrap metal instead.
