3 less skills? (and no attibutes, oh my!)

Actually, someone who is an expert on medieval fighting styles was supporting that because he said that the fighting style is the same. It was on Oblivion Mods forum.

I didn't like 'blunt axes', but to me personally didn't mean much because I don't like to use axes.

I bet this expert never said axes are blunt. Which is all I am saying.

It seems a little premature to say that attributes are out of the game just because they weren't mentioned.

I think it is likely they never mentioned them because nothing interesting happened.

If there were no attributes it would be something to shout all about. Not hearing anything is nearly a sure indicator of nothing major to say abou it.

Its bad that you take it that way. I belive this will help ME atleast becose in Oblivion i hated the skilling system, becose i have this kinda obsession about making supreb characters so it was stupid not to be able to do so becose i dont want to spend time trying to do the 5/5/5 system to max out attributes for my character.

So i welcome this idea with warm hands

While they're at it they should change "less" to "fewer".

I agree with everything you have said.

The found the school divisions set by the Empire/Arcane University to be highly eratic and erroneous. They redrafted the schools, leaving it with only 5 instead of 6.

There. Really, the separations between schools of magic are academic and political, not some "universal fact". The spells that were under Restoration, for example, were only so because that's what the Mages Guild said. They could've just as easilly said they were Alteration, and that's how it would be.

Actualy if you play ob again you will see they forshadow it going away in ob. It was waining in ob and likely fell apart and got consumed by the other schools of magic when the mage guild itself went belly up.

I like acrobatics a lot. But it's mysticism that bugs me most. The magic system has always needed to be made more robust. Taking away from it is the opposite direction in which they needed to go. As someone who plays mages almost exclusively, I'm pretty skeptical on this issue. Less skills looks a lot like further simplification even from how simple it was made in oblivion. No attributes. There's no longer any complexity.

Though, in all fairness, the loss of skills (particularly relating to magicka) is my only real complaint about the current info. I'm ecstatic and can't wait to get some videos or a demo. *squeals like a little girl*
