What's your favorite weapon to use?

In my previous sneak/VATS build: Overseers

In my current "kick down the door and see what happens" build: Explosive shotgun / Wounding shotgun combo.

Ranged:

Before crit/VATS/AP perks maxed - Old Faithful and whatever I need to save on fusion cells, like Deliverer or some other free weapon.

After crit/VATS/AP perks maxed - Righteous Authority, or any "Lucky" laser/plasma weapon.

Melee:

Almost always depends on the fight, but my three go-to melee weapons are Pickman's Blade, General Chao's Revenge and a bladed Rockville Slugger.

My favorite weapons are my non-legendary .38 auto pipe rifle and .45 sniper rifle because those weapons carried me through level 74 on survivor difficulty.

However, since then I have replaced them with non-legendary .45 combat semi-auto rifle and .308 recon combat sniper rifle because the game started to get harder.

I will switch to using legendary weapon if / when the game becomes really hard.

I would actually like to add that to my collection of unused legendary weapons. Unfortunately I have not come across any legendary .44 magnum.

However, based on all the drops I had, I could probably give every friendly NPC and their mothers a legendary 10mm pistol.

I would enjoy the Broadsider more if it had a knockback effect (not as powerful as Fus Ro Dah but still a knockback effect) instead of cannonballs exploding on contact...

Cannonballs usually has a time detonation, not a contact detonation too.

Spray'n'Pray or Instigating auto assualt rifle fully upgraded and with related perks. Either offers that very well protected felling. On normal i just laugh at attacking deathclaws or mirelurk queens.

Railway Rifle upgraded and perks. Nailing raider heads to a wall. Need i say more?

My favorite has to be my 50 cal, plus it goes great with my shroud costume. Silent sniping with style!

Scoped, supressed Gauss Rifle. Punches holes through Behemoths and Mirelurk Queen as if they're not even there in fist place.

1- Two shot 10mm pistol modded for max damage and a suppressor

2- Combat rifle modded as .308 sniper rifle with long scope and suppressor

I use these for 90% of my kills. From sneak mode, I can take out a super mutant in 1 to 2 shots with the pistol.

assaultrifle hands down the best overall weapon no need for any legendary stuff on it thats only for wimps with gunnut rank 4 you basicly have the best weapon in game

only drawback is finding ammo for it early mid game

ANY weapon with the two shot perk. No matter if you get energy plasma fire or whatnot... nothing beats straight up double damage.

I also use a tricked out laser pistol that I call my "photon persuader" for medium and some long distance. I forget the exact stats and I'll have to look it up later when I get home, but with all the gunslinger perks, the highest level sniper barrel, highest focus beam, and other mods that effect damage, it's a beast.

Mine is the M82A3 AMR...an actual antimateriel rifle (thank you amoveve) and the M79 Thumper Grenade Launcher (thank you DDProductions83).

I would not normally mod in weapons this early in the game lifecycle, or prior to the release of the GECK, but Bethesda's weapons, with few exceptions, are pretty forgettable to me...and are only made palatable with the introduction of magic (double-shots, limb damage "weapons,", explosive "weapons," armor piercing "receivers").
