Will Bethesda update the dialogue...

Post » Fri Feb 26, 2016 11:04 pm

I love Fallout 4. It's fantastic. I could pick holes in it all day but the fact is it's a massively fun and compelling game to play. I really cannot thank Bethesda enough. However there's one thing that I really, really dislike; the paraphrasing in the dialogue.

One of the most popular mods on the Nexus currently rectifies this: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1235/?.

I love that mod, although I have decided to stop using it so I can do a pure Vanilla run through of the base game and the DLC's. That said I really think the popularity of this mod should make Bethesda consider patching the game to include full lines, even if the layout isn't changed. Sure we've got the option on PC, but I'm also sure there are plenty of console users who would appreciate this change.

I can't imagine why this mod won't be available to us console players too, so I doubt they'd bother.

I don't get why they made it the vanilla way in the first place so I don't know. Probably not. They certainly should though.

Ah, I chose 'No' thinking the question was 'Will they change it'. I dont think they will change it, but I hope they do, but only if a little bit of karma comes into the game, which I cant see happening. No point in changing it if it does nothing to gameplay.

Very confusing poll...

Thread title says "will" they, but the text says "should" they.
I voted "no"...because I answered the "will they".
I highly doubt Beth will waste time on something that a mod can already do even Pre-CK.

Yeah, apologies for that. I re-phrased the poll during drafting and forgot to do the thread title. If a mod could do the honours I'd be very appreciative.

God I hope so, and I hope that the first thing they change is that petulantly moronic, 13 year old voice that makes the asinine comment when you wake up. It wasn't amusing in the slightest the first time I heard it and it just gets more irritating.

If anyone knows a mod which blows it to hell please let me know of it.

The same reason why others add it: players don't want to readmuch.

Sounds stupid to me, but then again I didn't consider Pillars of Eternity to have too much text XD

Well they should have had either full lines as the full dialogue interface mod provides, or show full dialogue when you moved your cursor over said dialogue choice something like Deus EX Human Revolution. They should in my opinion change it, but i am pretty sure they won't.
