What NOT to do with the survival update

If you do like fast travel then you shouldn't play survival mode. Your statement is just as silly as you claim mine to be as well as slightly hypocritical.

That would probably be fine. But why not just make it optional in the settings menu?

So many people SO concerned about how other play the game ...

Obviously make the features individually selectable. In a single player game, there is absolutely no justification for forcing me to play in a way less enjoyable to me.

And Newsflash, Folks: You can already play with no fast travel - many do. You can already ignore autosaves and only manually save after sleep. I play a DiD game and I still save all the time as insurance against game faults or just simply when I'm done playing for a period of time.

What I find a little humorous about Survival Mode suggestions is the food/water, travel, and save on sleep proposals..

You can do this already without the programmer coding it. So why bother forcing it down their throats? Seems like wasted time that could be spent on other content.

If you want to do "no quick travel", "no saving other than via sleep".. you can do that already.. I wouldn't bother even putting the code in for these 3 items if I was the programmer,.. since I could be spending my time fixing tier 4 traders, broken quest scripts and new content.

Kinda funny that a sector of gamers aren't happy unless a game forces them to do it.

Strong Back perk is related to fast travels so I don't think survival mod will remove/disable this feature. Anyway using fast-travel or not using it is just a personal choice, no reason to remove it for everyone and no reason to be disbled in survival mode.

If made optional then it should be fully optional with a list of options that Dead is Truly Dead as a Door Nail that dying brings up the new character screen, or that you can only sleep save in your base, or use any raiders sleeping bag, or turn it off entirely, as well as another other surival feature. Of course if there is some achievements related to survival those should only be given by going all in.

My point is it is easily implemented so that game playtime/bugs is a non issue to use the feature by still allowing quick/autosaves for general reloads yet making death a bed dream as it forces you to reload in bed.

That's a staple of "surviving" and the changes are not just to challenge you but to add some real survival elements...I'm sure needing to sleep every x hours is also part of the plan.

I'm also going to say they shouldn't have the, "No saving unless you sleep" feature. As if Bethesda's games don't have enough problems with games they are going to take the one feature out of avoiding bugs. I currently play on Survival, when the new update and the new Survival mode goes live I won't be playing on Survival.

Then you should support changing 'saving only on sleep' to instead be 'rolling back to a sleep save on death', because that solves the problem of game issues as well as time issues. Doing it this way still eliminates death save scumming, which was the purpose of the feature. I doubt their intent is that you not use the feature because the game is buggy, and we all know Bethesda will never fix all the bugs.
