No new settlements in future DLC!

Post » Fri Feb 26, 2016 7:02 pm

Don't get me wrong,I enjoyed them in the main game.I just feel like most of the quest related to them were lazy and boring. In my opinion Far Harbor would be much better without them. That would hopefully mean more though out quest. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't want to be hopping between the Commonwealth and Far Harbour maintaining large settlements but, depending on what the location of Far Harbour is like, I could see an argument for small build spaces to create safehouses and such, especially with the new Survival mode coming.

There definitely needs to be a focus on questing, narrative and exploration in this DLC though, in my opinion. Let's not turn Fallout into post-apocalyptic Minecraft.

The main game is already littered with them. People like you already have more than enough settlement BS.

People like me who like interesting quests on the other hand need more.

Thankfully they aren't just prioritizing on any one kind of person.

I'd like to have one single settlement in the DLC :D

It's nice to have a base, where you can store your items and craft your weapons safely

Consider far harbour will most likely have new weapons and armour, this alone is a reason that Beth will put at least one settlement on the island, so folks can apply there weapon/armour perks to modify the new stuff.

The announcement says that it includes new settlements. I'm not sure if this means a player settlement or if it means a settlement in the sense of a new city like Goodneighbor or Diamond City. Personally, I'm hoping to get at least one new settlement there. Given how incredibly popular the settlement building has been in this game though, I'm guessing that they'll be including one.

Why can't it include both? Bethesda isn't tailoring it to what YOU want. Many people, myself included, absolutely want there to be at least 1 new settlement location in Far Harbor.

You say "people like me" as though one cannot enjoy both settlement building AND interesting quests. I want Far Harbor to include new and interesting quests, and I'm certain that it will. I also love building settlements and I'd love to have a new location to use since I've already built up every settlement location in the game. Bethesda needs to make this appeal to their whole audience...which includes MANY people who absolutely love building settlements.

I agree with the guy above. I don't want to jump between them and how would a caravan work?

Agreed. I wouldn't mind if its nothing more than something like Home Plate in Diamond City. Although a few typical settlements wouldn't bother me either as long as I can connect trade routes from the Commonwealth so I don't have to mule over tons of construction junk. I guess this is just a non-factor for me as I would be happy with anything functional that allowed me to store items and use crafting tables.

There will definitely be at least one settlement with a workbench so the players have a place to call their Vacation Home.
