So, is survival survival?

Post » Sat Feb 27, 2016 7:58 am

I'm interested to hear details on how the actual difficulty is going to be planned out, since this will have an impact on whether or not, I refund my season pass.

So, will it be Survival (as it is now) with opting in on the additional features coming? Or will there only be one survival mode, with all the planned for features?

Where, in the case of the latter, if not interested in the upcoming survival features, one have to play on very hard instead?

I would ultimately hope for check boxes regarding the new features.....

I know Bethesda won't answer this on this forum. So perhaps if any have heard anything regarding this, or perhaps a forum moderator could forward the question? (not likely, but I have to ask, right? :) )

As far as I understood it will replace the current survival mode. All they've announced points towards it and if the information provided from that reddit post is going to be in the final version then yes, it will replace current survival (in the information posted there was a description how to enable it which was the same as currently changing to survival difficulty)

Hmmm, doesn't bode well then. I really hope for the features being optional. :ermm: Well, I have some days to run on still before asking for a refund, so hopefully there will come some clarity to this in the meantime.

You realize that the survival bit isnt part of the dlc, but a free update? Its also worth noting that with the kit all the features will be adjustable.

I'm aware it isn't part of the DLC's, but the baseline difficulty for the game overall, and thus, would affect DLC's as well.

As for the kit, yes I'm aware that mods will probably come out. But why should I count on 3rd party creations for something like that, when Beth could just make it optional. I don't want to mod my games more than strictly needed (e.g. bug fixes Bethesda don't care about)

As for the update being optional, any source on that? Because that would be nice :)

Yeah but, the only difference between very hard setting, and survival is well the survival aspects and a slight increase in legendary spawns. (Really, I am serious right now, the *only* difference, is not in damage the player deals or receives, but how fast stim packs heal. *shrugs* Not thrilled with the way they set it up, but personally speaking not willing to pass up dlcs at a reduced price over it :-)

Really, you can discuss this in one of the existing Survival Mode threads.

Moderators don't have any inside track on release times or details.

The new mode will be part of an upcoming update, and is separate from DLC and the Season Pass.
