Giddy-Up Buttercup

I don't think wheeled vehicles make much sense in fallout, but what would work well on the rough terrain would be a horse. As there aren't any horses around, why not make one. In fallout 3 there were the poster ads for Giddy-Up Butter cup, a robotic horse for little girls, in the Mother Ship Zeta DLC you could see a large number of them, they were about pony sized; ever since then I've been thinking how cool it would be if there were advlt sized Giddy-Up Buttercups. They could be powered by fusion cores to make them both more realistic and a resource allocation question (suit or horse until you have enough that you don't care). You could even mod them to have different cosmetic changes or utility like better carry weight and use them as additional storage when carrying heavy loads.

Oh god yes. That would be hilarious. And it has to be given to you by a group of tribals who worship Giddy-Up Buttercup. Like the Kings in New Vegas.

So they give you the most ridiculous, sparky unicorniest, robotic horse to ride. And they treat it with 100% pure sincerity and solemnity. You give the players an option to get it modified later of course. A normal paint job, removing the unicorn horn, etc...

I'd imagine that Bethesda might be a little bit gun-shy about putting out another horse-related DLC. ;)

I'd rather have a working motorcycle with some all terrain tires and the ability to summon it via pipboy....would trade all the power armor in Boston for 1 bike

Any such update would be modded to become My Little Pony...

Not if they play it off as a joke. Have a vendor in the village who will, for a fee, armor your pony. Just go really tongue-in-cheek with it.

Oh absolutely. There's already a ghoul in Fallout 4 who's pretty much a brony for Giddy-Up-Buttercup.

The whole concept, mount, village, etc would have to have a comedic tone. ^_^

Bethesda could import the horse AI from skyrim, and tweak it a little to make the horse less natural and more mechanical.

I didn't even think about unicorn horns, and I like the idea of the crazy villagers worshiping it. I had been thinking things like horns, different colored eyes, different skins (base skeleton, metallic, leather, wood), different sounds, different effects for the nostrils, different effects on the hooves for cosmetic changes. it would be hilarious if they had some vendor selling horse armor for a couple bucks .

Oh well, if there is a unicorn involved, I'm afraid my PC is going to have to opt out. DQ'd.

That motorbike idea sounds cool though, maybe with a sidecar.

Maybe make the horses disposable, as in, they can die, but when they do die, they go the way of a Sentry Bot or Car....................BOOOOOM........

You talk about it as if they aren't already in F4??

They are too tiny in F4 since they they are supposed to be kid's toys :P

But no, motorcycle or a boat in dlc would be better. & ye there is 0 reason for Bethesda to add it in the game tbh

I know the usual ones are kid sized, I was saying make an advlt sized version. motorcycles and would get stuck really easily in some areas, horses handle rough terrain much better than wheeled vehicles, and I'd think a full sized Giddy-Up would be like a suit of power armor and walk across the bottom or rivers. A boat though seems like it'd be pretty cool, I'm guessing the one in Far Harbor is similar to the Point Lookout one in that it just goes point to point with you having no control, a dingy or something like that, especially if you could pack it up and carry it, with you would be great for crossing larger stretches of open water without having to down a bunch of rad-x or put on a hazmat suit

Of the locations you can find them in Fo4 I am fairly sure one was a production factory. Maybe we can get the machinery working long enough to push an appropriately sized one out?
