Strong Back in new Survival

Post » Mon Feb 29, 2016 7:50 am

I think maybe this perk needs to be reworked, the final level allows fast raveling while over weight and since fast traveling is a no no in the new survival it seems almost useless to get the final level of this perk. Thoughts?

A valid issue...

My guess is Beth will do what they always do, either patch it to make it work because its been broken or do... nothing.

Only that they will have to alter the perk. Perhaps allow it to bypass the damage bit for being over-encumbered.

Good point. I'm actually 1 point away from maxing this. Maybe I'll wait to see what happens first

Hmm, a tricky one.

I'd say deleting irrelevant perks like these would be sufficient. Has anyone reached the cap of 200-something without using experience glitches of some sort? Replacing some perks with better Survival oriented ones pretty much goes without saying, but when you lack the freedom to just grind levels Perk choices need to be well considered - wastes like this would or could kill playthroughs so they should go, and as nobody should be XP glitching in Survival (I mean, seriously?) nobody's gonna hit the current cap, so the cap reduction from removed perks is pretty irrelevant.

It's also somewhat contradicting.

Strongback Rank 2 supports you to run when overweight. But in Survival, carrying too much will hurt your limbs.

So...

That isn't contradictory.

Going overweight will gradually cause limb damage, it's not an instant cripple. This perk allows you to run. Presuming your limbs aren't too badly damaged you'll still be able to run. What will be interesting is whether running actually causes your limbs to take more damage than normal for the duration. Obviously being fully crippled should stop you running completely.

Hmm. Yeah.

That makes sense.
