Hello everyone! I've recently started having CTD with no errors when engaging combat while travelling with a companion.
I've played for more than 180 hours and not had a single CTD or travelled with a companion. But recently I found Curie and I could not resist (I love French chicks )
I decided to try out some other companions to see if this was just Curie and the crash results when entering combat : Codsworth (almost always), Dogmeat and Preston (occasionally). These crashes seem to happen most often when the companion starts an event dialogue (they can see/sense danger, etc. whatever they say just before combat) but can also happen after the dialogue (or if they don't start one) as soon as they engage in combat.
System Specs:
Win 7 64bit fully updated (even the damned "Get Win 10 Free" ads)
NVidia driver ver. 361.43
All motherboard and peripheral drivers up to date
Current stable build of Fallout 4 (not opted into Latest Beta)
No Mods (waiting for Creation Kit/GECK)
i5-4670k @ stock ("Turbo" mode enabled)
16GB RAM @2400MHz CL10
GTX 770 2GB (EVGA SC ACX 2.0)
250GB 850EVO SSD
750W Corsair TX 750M
Game settings : Ultra (or highest available) except Shadows (Med. quality and distance), Godrays (Low) and Weapon Debris (med). Ugrids = 6 (tried with the default 5 and even lowered to 4 but no change)
Things I've tried to eliminated my hardware as an issue:
Ran Prime95 (Small FFTs) for 12 hours - passed.
Ran IBT (with 14GB RAM) for 10 passes - passed.
Ran Memtest86 for 12 passes - passed.
Ran Unigine valley benchmark for 20 pass loop - passed.
HWMonitor and BIOS show Volts well within acceptable limits ( 12v = 12.1, 5v = 4.98, 3v = 3.2).
Temps : CPU <60C (while in Fallout4 and during stress testing). GPU <60C (while in Fallout4 and during Stress testing)
I should note one "odd/different" thing about my system. I also have a GTX 650ti for PhysX and my second monitor.
Thanks for reading all that (if you did ) and I appreciate any and all help!
