I wish this place was a settlement-Thread.

This is a thread for you to tell us all what places you think could really use a handy workshop to spice things up.

I'll start.

For me it is

-the parking lot just south of Diamond City.

-Quincy (Like...seriously?Why isn't this a thing?)

I wish every location could be converted into a settlement.

Especially Diamond City.

One or more of the destroyed settlements like University Point, Lynn Woods, Salem, Quincy, ect.

Cabot House

The pier / resturant on Nahant Island near Croup Manor

Fanueil Hall (if you could clear away the debris/mutant crap and effect repairs)

The Corvega plant...ideally with the boundaries including the nearby pond

Easy City Downs - either making nice with Ernie and being welcome there or taking over his robot racing racket and running then yourself

Ideally, though, you should be able to drop a workbench anywhere and make a settlement area....most of the areas they chose are for "game balance" and not for it's utility.

My favorite would be the Boston Police Rationing site due to its location just south of Diamond City. The other big bonus for the site would be that nice big barn to turn into my workshop. If you go further along the tracks to the east you will find a huge warehouse that is totally sealed up. This would make another nice spot for a Power Armor Depot. But you can't even get into this building unless you go into TCL mode only to find it an empty structure. Its not intended to be used for anything unless they tie it into a DLC later on.

The Galleria would be my second choice. That place has some nice defensive possibilities. Plus all of the buildings except the bowling alley are open to the world and could make for some nice settler housing. Of course, the huge robot statute would be my office/home.

There are several underground sites I wish we could take over and turn into bases/settlements.

Entirely possible as I have not done anything for/with Hancock/Goodneighbor, aside from one run through of the Silver Shroud quest line, at all.

Not a fan of Ghouls so I avoid them if possible. They remind me of either Leprosy or severe third degree burn victims. I don't want to kill them all or anything. I just try to avoid the creeped out feeling I get when talking to some one with no nose. Yes, I take it as far as to ship Ghoul settlers off to their own little settlements. LOL

How about to taking over the Dunwich Borers after you clear it out, set up a settlement and quarrying rock? If the Commonwealth is going to progress, we need FRESH building materials to work with.

Every time I see a Red Rocket, I feel like I'm home.

I would like to start up a play through where I settle all the Red Rocket stations.

In no particular order

Vault 111, both in and above

Satellite Station Olivia

Drumlin Diner

Walden Pond

Federal Ration Stockpile

Fiddlers Green

Fort Hagen

Natick

Vault 95

Meh. It's a lllooonnnngggg list. Basically anyplace there are people already living is a good site for a settlement. As long as you have enough space to grow crops, has an adequate water source, and sufficient raw materials for building will be a good site to establish a settlement -- once the current ne'er-do-wells have been disposed of.

The best way to suppress Raiders, Supermutants, Mirelurks, whatever is to build a network of fortified settlements. King Edward the I of England suppressed ALL of newly-conquered Wales -- think of Wales as being a giant Raiders incubator -- with just TEN castles, strategically placed in Wales. The male SS, being an educated ex-soldier, could be quite likely to understand that historical lesson. Clear out the current bad guys, build a fortified settlement, move on to the next. Eventually, Bad Guys have no place to set up a secure base of operations without being immediately crushed by a nearby settlement.

I'd give up all the settlements we already have if I could just make Concord into an actual city. Fixing up all the houses there, setting up trade routes, making a city console, making myself major. It'd be [censored] awesome.
