Will Bethesda change Strong Back for Survival?

Post » Mon Feb 29, 2016 12:00 pm

For those of you who don't know, or haven't heard, one of the rumored features for Survival, is no fast travel. Usually, there is no problem with a gameplay change intended to increase difficultly. However, rank four of the Strong Back perk will become useless. It allows you to fast travel when over encumbered. It is also rumored that when you are over encumbered, you will loose Endurance, Agility, and may cripple limbs. I think, that Bethesda will change the perk for Survival to remove these side effects in Survival. What do you think?

TBH, if you're over encumbered, you shouldn't be able to fast travel anyway. I wouldn't mind one bit if they removed that ability altogether.

But breaking limbs? No thank you, not even on survival. It's far easier, and safer to simply drop a few items here and there, rather than risk breaking an arm or leg trying to lug it all around at once.

Doubt they will change it, nor do they really need to. It's obviously not a survival friendly perk, so players playing on survival should probably pick something else.

They probably won't change it because it will most likely still be a valid perk with a certain faction pick.

A good compromise for missing out on a really cool certain something with other factions.

It's a tricky balance because for anyone who just wants to play on a normal setting , Strong back would come in handy .

On the other hand , if they decide to change the mechanic for that perk , the change might only favour anyone who wants to play survival mode .

My hope is that if Bethesda does make a change , the change would benefit everyone .

No as its only Rank 4 that would be affected by a no fast travel change.

Obviously it's going to reduce the negative effects of being overburdened, nothing else would make sense.

Of course they will. They aren't going to render even a rank of a perk completely useless like that. Or, if you're talking about the Institute, 99% useless.

I made a similar thread about this but I hope they upgrade the perk to something else, you have to invest a lot of points in STR just to get it which is almost useless to anybody who's non melee

It's clear you can't use fast travel, but what about vertibird travel? Anyone?
