A few settlement additions?

I'd love to be able to simply lock and relock doors and containers.

Maybe if I could craft specific keys, and make key sets. Then I could pass them out to only those npcs I want to have access.

I'd also like to designate 'personal areas' where npcs won't go. It drives me up the wall to walk into 'my' house / room and find people sitting in my space or sleeping in my bed unsolicited. If however they're my current follower and/or lover then that's fine. Mi casa, su casa.

I bet mods would cater a lot more to personal preferences i.e. settlements, unfortunately bethesda can't cater to everyone like that lol.

You'll probably have to wait until mod support.

I feel you, I would love to be able to make SS’ house private, I hate when I go there, to find someone sitting next to Shaun’s old crib.

Man...I even tried keeping a ladder in storage and building a floating house, and I STILL find people in my stuff.

Great idea because there is no use for storage containers in a settlement with followers, as they take what they want and actually forceing people to use the workshop.

I've never had issues with settlers stealing my stuff. But I also don't leave the ammo next to the guns.

The best way to make sure people stay out of your stuff and personal areas is to make sure that all settlers are assigned to the beds furthest away from the area you want them out of. That way they don't sleep in your bed or path-find through your area. The other thing is to make sure all settlers are assigned so they don't wander and have a bar because settlers tend to hang around a bar after their scripted work hours. These are all things that I do and I haven't had any people in my personal room or take any of my stuff. But then again all of the OP's suggestions would be very nice.
