PLEASE HELP! LOAD TIMES KILLING ME!

Post » Wed Mar 02, 2016 7:29 am

Hello community,

I did a system reset to factory settings on my alienware 17 laptop (It was a present, if I was gifted a pile of cash for half cost I would have built a 2x better rig I'm aware alienware is a huge rip of thanks) Fallout ran great no load time issue and graphics were set to the higher end and ran at good fps. Since the reset fallout load times have been 2 mintues plus, however alt tab out and alt tab back in will get me a 9 second load time into high populated textured areas, I know this is a software issue since it worked perfect before. Reading forums I have reset 15 times in past 4 days. I did windows 10 upgrade didn't help reset, installed all windows updates FIRST then hardware reset, hardware then windows reset, I tried rolling back drivers no windows updates I mean I've run myself ragged and redownloaded and resetting to get a fresh start at getting it to work. I ran both 10 and 8.1, beta no beta, old drivers new drivers, everything I can think of. The software is the problem and I am 99% sure it's tied to alt tab. Alt tab Will dramatically speed up load screens within 10 sec. Otherwise I'm looking at 2 mintues. Also I have a black screen no more spinning guns and raiders on load screens. Upon boot of game 10 seconds top load In, apon entering and exiting buildings 2 mintues. I have saved at a singular place to test my theory. Loading from menu takes 10 seconds loading on the other side of a door then walking through it to get to the same place at the same time of day in game gets me 2 mintues. I'm almost thinking maybe somehow loading screens use my integrated hd4800 and launcher uses my amd radeon m290x, when I alt tab in and out I think the launcher might kick it back to my amd. I've done everything I can think of and failed please brainstorm with me. As I said I'm aware alienware svcks but 2 weeks ago it performed great system reset and loadtimes are trash=software not hardware so please keep trashing my laptop to a minimum yes I'm talking to you trolls. If your not smart enough to help no worries if your posting my computer svcks it's because your not smart enough to help and are spewing useless garbage please dont.

Video card: amd Radeon m290x

Os:8.1 (can go 10 if needed)

Fallout4: steam

Processor: Intel (pc is resetting will tell specific once I can load after 205 updates (tomarrow b4 word))

Thank you all so much, I've seen others use alt tab to speed up load times online so I know it's a problem for multiple people but never seen a solution, my pc ran fallout 4 great a couple of weeks ago so this is for sure a software issue PEOPLE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE HELP

Had the problem myself after the 1.3 patch, that whenever I left a building to go back into the wasteland I'd be stuck with a 3-4 minute long load time, but all other forms of loading where less then 10 seconds. I found a solution that works somewhat, though it's not bulletproof and occasionally long load times will still occur even with this setup.

So now, whenever I leave a building I stop in front of the door leading to the wasteland, then I save the game and reload that save. That should give you a normal loading screen when going through the door. You will have to do this every time you go between building -> wasteland though, because the long load time will return the second time you load building -> wasteland within the same save. Hopefully this will help you too, only solution I've managed to find so far.

That's the part that kills me is it worked fine 2 weeks ago it's a software something I simply cannot accept just alt tabbing all the time or saving and loading constantly there has to be a true, real fix out there since it only started after a system restore on os, I think this is tied into fallout 4 because other high demand games don't have this issue but what could I have possibly lost software wise to cause this...I mean...DAMN

Well, I'm not sure they are willing to accept that it's one of their patches that brought the issue. I've mailed back and forth with support for over a week, where they keep giving me solutions that any person that has basic computer skills and anyone with some decent common sense would manage to figure out on their own. "Reinstall your game, start a new save, backup your save files". I don't think we'll see any fixes anytime soon :/
