Which I bought too (still have a hard copy from PS1 as well as VIII, and the digital versions of both on PS3) . I'm just figuring Al has a PC (apology if I got the wrong impression) and getting PC versions would be the most cost effective method. Even more so because 1-9 are very KB/M friendly. X is when we started to see the 360 degree freedom of movement.
Another point: I did not like X or XIII, so my summary is limited. Al, look at the opinions of those who liked it and ask questions.
Lastly, if you ever do play any of them, feel free to PM me if you ever want to discuss strategy (outside of X, XIII and the MMOs). I love talking FF.

One last point about Square. Look around everybody. We all have different favorites, hates, and general feel goods and appreciations. To me that proves a point: that Square can make a game amd be successful in the FF game in the series because they know how to attract a lot of fans. Thats why I dont detract people from X, because I know it has qualities people can enjoy immensely. This is why I have faith in the Remake. I love the story and that is going to be enough. No delusions of the same old world and combat, but a completely new modern version. For a company whose last hurrah was supposed to be the original Final Fantasy, I think they deserve a little trust and appreciation by making it this far.
I, for one, am looking forward to that Remake.
