Where did you build the teleporter?

Just wondered where people build their teleporter to the institute? On my first and only completed pt I built it at Sanctuary as I didn't really care about settlements on that character, and just plonked it down anywhere, but on my current character I have tried to build up my settlements and keep them within the theme of wooden type towns so the teleporter is just going to look out of place. I am wondering whether I can build it at the airport even though I asked the Minutemen for help? Wouldn't look too bad there.

Spectacle Island has a ready made generator on the ship. Use this and you wont need to build as many generators :)

Since I went with BOS on my first playthrough I built it at the airport and then dismantled it once it had fulfilled its purpose since it took up (along with the extra power generators) valuable room.

I've built it in Sanctuary twice. The first was on the lot just next to the workbench area, and the most recent is on the lot at the end of the cul-de-sac.

Sanctuary. You can scrap it after you get an ability to teleport to the Institute, I think it`s useless after it anyway.. But on my view it looked good untill it was broken. I could see it from long distance at night.

Mercer Safehouse aka Outpost Zimonja. I intentionally force the Site as Mercer Safehouse for Railroad Characters.


Either of the Lots at the end of Sanctuary for unaligned/Institute characters.

I built two at Sanctuary (because one was going to be burnt out), one at Starlight Drive-In (which is my main base) and one at the castle. The one at Starlight is my base centrepiece, while the one at the castle sits on top of the walls so you can see it miles away like a beacon. I can't build anymore, but I think I'll cheat with the console and spawn them as decoration whenever I need them - they look so cool.

I've built it at Sanctuary for both of my characters.




There's actually a mod that allows you to build it after completing the quest. I tried building multiples of it but it made the quest get a little buggy.

Starlight Drive-In every time. Of course I'm going to travel to a mysterious and highly advanced scientific facility from a drive-in movie theater. It's my little homage to Old World Blues.

First time - Sanctuary


Second time - Mercer Safe House (Jamaica Plains - not much room there lol)


Third time around - not sure yet. I hope Sturges will travel to where ever I build it.

Speaking of which, can you still do the Minuteman ending if you get another faction to help you build the signal interceptor? Sturges always bugs out and becomes a tree stump after he helps you build it, so next time I may have the Brotherhood help if it doesn't force me into a Brotherhood ending or result in conflict with the any faction aside from the Institute.

Yes, it doesn't really matter who you build it with. You can still do any of the faction endings regardless of who helps you.

Can you always build it anywhere? Or is that only with a certain faction?

When I'm with MM I build it at Sanctuary, and BoS at the airport. Haven't built it with the RR yet.
