it is obvious that food is NOT scarce in Fallout, regardless of the Settler's comments about a full belly.

I have a dozen farms generating like 300 food a day, if anything I have to worry about obesity.

I read that article already. It's a rare practice among societies today's, even those societies where cannibalism is a part of their culture. I don't think there are any societies where human flesh is their main food source lol.

If you are in a situation were you are stranded and their is no food then the first person to die of starvation or exposure is dinner, no if ands or buts!

If I died first why would I care if the rest of my stranded party ate me awaiting rescue? Grow up and face the facts, it has happened all through history and still goes on today.

Eating humans is one of the most inefficient way to gather energy since they are so high up on the food chain. The game has already shown that we can still grow food in the wasteland, but if you're in desperate situation where there is nothing to eat but humans then it is not wrong to eat the humans. Right and wrong is just relative in the end, especially in live and dead situation. What's wrong about eating humans would be the distrust we create by doing such a thing which prevent us from forming a stable society, which in itself can be perceived as morally wrong from the society's standpoint. It's better to just grow crops and food to eat. I don't have any problem with people doing that, but I just wouldn't want to travel around them since there is a distrust between me and that person and they may turn me into food if they have already cross that line of eating humans. While there is nothing wrong with eating humans, once you actually do it, it may change someone's value and perception in how they see other humans.

I don't eat normal pig so I imagine that long pig tastes worse and will upset my stomach more....what's the point of eating something that will make you puke?

We want to know about the health issues..

For instance if I was dead and you cooked and ate. In this Fictional Fallout world.

Would you get what I have? Would the MS transfer to you?

I voted "If starving only"

It's a bad idea because of diseases. It's even a bad idea to eat a chimp. The closer the animal is in DNA the more likely you can get their diseases. Think of hiv, which may have started by an infected ape. Nevermind it being repugnant, there may be good reason for dietary prohibitions in a primitive environment.

Animals kill their own all the time,

but only most primitive of them will eat their own kind on regular basis.

Humans are better than them... so should eat their own only to survive and for nothing else.

It's more dangerous to eat chimp rather than humans since chimps can be immune to certain diseases and viruses that humans don't, like HIV. Still, beggars can't be choosers, if you are stranded and awaiting rescue, you may have to eat a dead body, even if you don't want to, it's instinct afterall, and you can't say you will never do something unless you are in that situation.

Somehow I doubt in case you are starving you would care much about diseases. ;) Better risk to get a disease then die for sure because of starvation.

Its the absolute very base of human behavior. The lowest we can go. Especially eating it for food, raising people as cattle like the Maori did, as opposed to it being a symbolic or religious thing which is bad enough.

No matter how bad the disease is, it is still only a risk. And in case of prions you can minimize it by avoid eating the brain.

How would you know how well done someone was? I haven't seen a meat thermometer amongst the junk :P

Also have you seen some of the people walking around Boston? They don't look like the freshest food.....not even managers special quality.

If you can cook the meat - IIRC those guys in the Andes had to eat the meat raw - sometimes you have no options ...
