If I forexample want a supply line from the Sanctuary to the castle, which of these settelments will be settler registry to? In Sanctuary or castle?

Sanctuary - > The Caste, the settler reg in Sanctuary therefor one bed/food is needed even the settler not present.

If you pick a settler from Sanctuary to do a supply line to the Castle, then that settler will still be 'registered' to Sanctuary. I dont think it actually matters to be honest, they just walk around, and even if you ring a bell in the settlement you sent them FROM, they wont come to the gathering at the bell, they will just keep walking backwards and forwards to the supply line route.

Edit|: seen klevs post, yeh klev is right about the bed/food/water thing aswell.

You can do it both ways, no difference. You can send a settler from the Castle or you can send a settler from Sanctuary. The settler will continue to "live" in his home settlement (settlement population does not change) . But he/she will just spend all time walking to the destination point and back.

The settler will be registered to wherever he is starting his supply line from.

Keep in mind the Provisioner won't sleep. So don't worry if you see someone is missing.
