I had the chance to select a 'flirt' response during one of our exchanges but she had just told me about the horrible things that had happened to her in the past so, being the good guy I am, it didn't seem appropriate so I just told her we were friends.


She is now cured of her addictions and still my companion but have I missed my chance of romance with her? Am I permanently in the 'Friend Zone'?

Cait is mine

You know, I went friends with Piper, but she kept doing the last dialog several times. I went for the romance when she initiated the dialog and now she keeps my bed warm in Sanctuary. Cait is at the castle. I'm not sure but i think the game keeps trying to initiate romance because Preston is doing the same thing. LoL. Try talking to Cait and see if you get the option. Don't forget to dress for charisma boost.

Not sure. My current character failed the first flirt option and I haven't seen it again since. Friend zoned it seems.

i found this advice in the steam forums. It does not say if it worked for the player, but it looks like it should.

"Open up console, click on companion, type "getav ca_affinity" (without the quotes) and that will give the current affinity level. Triggers are at 250, 500, 750 and 1000.


To change the value:


"setav ca_affinity x" (where x is the value you want). Try setting at 249 and then doing stuff they "like" to see if you can trigger the conversations with them."

i would suggest to reset her to 999. That is the point where her affinity stops until she completes her quest. Don't forget to do a full save, and click on her when you are in the console to get her ID on the screen. it should be easy to break past 999.

It's funny but i never flirted with piper and she still insisted on a relationship; stalker. I guess she is lonely. Not anymore. LoL

the flirt and romance option are seperate. If you fail the flirt option you will still get the chance on the romance option. For me it happened sometime after I completed her mission (her affinity must be maxed out). You'll then get a romance dialogue with her. But do not fear, it was red for me and I failed it the first time but after a while (several in-game days) the dialogue was prompted again when talking to her and this time I passed it.

I 100% how many chances you get, but I've read some people saying it's 3 chances and some say it's infinite. I'd go with the 3 chances to be sure. But don't jump to console commands until you've actually triggered the romance option a couple of time.
