Recent update crashes game. Now unplayable

Post » Fri Mar 04, 2016 1:11 am

So it looks as if it is a good update, but I can't really tell as my game lasts about five seconds before crashing. I've backed the game up to the cloud, deleted the ap, closed down the iPad, waited, restarted it, downloaded the ap, got the vault from the cloud, and it crashes again. So now the game is unplayable.

Any plans on bug fixes?

iPad one year old, running up to date software.

So further to that, I started a new vault, placed a few rooms, moved people in, watched it for a bit, it worked fine. Then went back to the old vault, it now works fine.

Wtf

Hope that helps someone

Thank you! My Crashing problems have been resolved! Solution: Create a new vault, create the standard four room, assign the dwellers in the line to the rooms based on special, rush one room sucessfully, open the lunchbox reward, then exit the vault. Open your vault.

Does not work for me. My game already crashes during the loading screen. The spinning icon seems to have a very hard time doing its job as well. Before I ever see the vault, it already crashes to the phone menu.

Mine crashes as well after the update; never had a problem before. I emailed Bethesda support and got this canned answer, actually suggesting I just download the newest update:

Thank you for contacting Bethesda Support, Vault-Tec Division. I understand that you’ve been experiencing an issue with your vault crashing. I apologize that you’re experiencing this issue, but I can help clear this up for you!

Due to the nature of the mobile platform, the scope of troubleshooting that Support can provide is very limited. We do not have any ability to view or troubleshoot individual Fallout Shelter save files.

I do recommend these basic troubleshooting steps, as they may help in resolving the crashing issue that you’re experiencing:

1. Ensure that you’ve installed the latest updates for the game on your device. You can install the latest updates via the Google Play Store app.

2. Reboot the device you are playing on. This will free up the available system resources on your device and resolve any issues occurring due to lack of available memory.

3. Please ensure that you haven’t altered the system clock on your device while playing Fallout Shelter. Changing the device’s clock will irreparably damage your save file. If your device forcibly shuts down due to low battery while playing Fallout Shelter, this could also potentially damage your save file.

Beyond these steps, Support does not have any further ability to troubleshoot any crashing issues that occur in your individual vault.

If your vault is unplayable due to the crashing, and you would like assistance with obtaining a refund for any lost in-app purchases, please contact Apple

Best Regards,

Bethesda Customer Support
