i got tired of being attacked by super mutants at red rocket (which i set up to be my home base, just me, nobody else) every time i fast traveled back to unload, got really annoying when im in the middle of doing some work at a workbench and i get attacked and they have a stupid suicider, ive been blown up a number of times just trying to back out of the workbench, so i decided to set up 8 rocket turrets, 4 on each side of red rocket pointed in the direction the attack always comes from, eat that stupid super mutants, lol

This has started happening to me a couple of days ago, but never before then. This current character is only intelligence 1 so only have basic machine gun turrets to build, but 5 of them, elevated and facing the direction of attack has been doing the job do far.

I have a base at the Red Rocket.


I strung some wire fence along both sides of the road, using it like barbed wire. I left a gap as an access point opposite the pumps; it is also a kill zone, used to channel the enemy into my guns. I put another gap closer to the bridge, where the provisioners like to cross.


My turrets are on top of pre-built hollow cubes, which gives the guns better range and also directs their fire over my head. I lined the roof of the garage with MG and rocket launchers, as well.


Don't lay a mine field! NPCs will set them off and your defenses will treat the NPCs as hostile.
