Perfomance drop after the 1.4 update

Post » Mon Mar 07, 2016 6:58 am

After getting the latest update I've noticed some major performance drops. It's pretty much unplayable at this point, it drops down to 15 sometimes.

I locked the fps at 35 for stability and it worked just fine before the update. Now I can't even get more than 25 when I'm in Sanctuary. I tried lowering the settings but it didn't help at all. Any ideas why?

Can you delete all the ini files on those two folders and verify your game cache files through steam?

C:\Users\[Your Username]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4

I assume you don't have any mods installed.

Do not change anything on your AMD GPU control panel and your Fallout 4 ini files.

Also play offline and disable your antivirus.

You should be able to play that game at 1080p and 60 fps (on most situations), with that RIG!

So simple. Why didn't I think of that? I deleted the ini files and verified the game cache and now it works perfectly. Two files were missing (300mb) so I guess something went wrong when I got the update.

Anyway, thank you!
