Why does it say Psycho is a quest item?

Post » Mon Mar 07, 2016 2:35 pm

No quests in my list involve Psycho. And yet, I keep collecting Psycho and I cannot use it or sell it or do ANYTHING with it because it says "cannot use quest item". What's the deal? Anyone help? This is driving me crazy because my Psycho count keeps building and it's taking more and more of my inventory allowance.

Your char maybe has developed his own conciousness and he see's his role in life as a drug dealer. He's proably stockpiling it for future sales.

Sounds like it might be a bug. I was able to move my Psycho to a container and even use it.

One other suggestion is that you check your Miscellaneous Quests. Chances are you picked up a quest to take some Psycho to someone without knowing it.

Is mama Murphy waiting for some psycho by any chance?

Is there even a quest requiring Psycho? If there is, I've never found it.

I know you said you checked quest list, also the misc. list? I have to ask, since I've seen before that people wasn't aware of that list. Just hold your cursor over the misc. section, and it will show to the left if there is any.

Otherwise, if you are on PC, you could try use console to remove them.

Open console (Tilde key if US keyboard)

command: Player.RemoveItem

Hit enter and close console.

I haven't tried removing consumables with this command in FO4, so don't know if it just drops them on the floor (what I think will happen) or they just disappear. If they disappear, and you want them back, you can use the command;

Player.AddItem

Edit: Darnit, forgot to add the psycho item ID for you :P Here you go;

Psycho ID: 0003377d

Thanks, but, I'm playing on PS4. And yeah, I've checked the miscellaneous tab a million times. There is no quest involving Psycho. I have no idea what to do at this point. There is a stack of Psycho just stuck in my inventory.

I think it's bugged. Even if it's Mama Murphy's request, I think you still be able to sell or use.

Reload your unbroken save data. Your game is broken. I did this too many times. So I'm spiritually with you. lol.

The problem is I didn't notice it for a while, and then when I did notice I just thought that there was some random quest in my list involving the item and once I finished the quest the problem would go away. Well, I did all of the quests. The Psycho is still just sitting there in my inventory. I have no idea exactly when the bug happened, but I've probably logged in over twenty hours of gameplay since then. No way in hell I'm going back that far. Ah, Bethesda.

You gotta do it. I mean, what can you do now.

It will feel like crap, but well, I'd do it it if I were you. I did it many times and lost many nice Legendaries and rare items I obtained... LOL :banghead:

Oh man, I've done SO MUCH stuff in those 20+ hours. Everything from quests to leveling to farming to just about everything. I've literally built an entire settlement over at Egret since this bug happened. I really don't think I can bring myself to gather all the materials (like 4,000 pieces of wood/steel, among others) and build it all over again. I think I'm just gonna have to live with a little less inventory space.

To the people saying that it's a quest related to Mama Murphy, it's not. That was the first thing I thought when I saw this thread, and checked Murphy's quest. Mama Murphy is waiting for Jet, not Psycho.
