2 queries on about getting(or loosing) XP's

case 1) I got bloody Mess maxed out, which means when in a group 1 guy(ghoul ,raider whatever) explodes , the others standing next to this entity will also do so ( at times ofcourse).

what I find is , when this happens only killing the main entity gives XP while 3 standing next to this entity also perished but got no XPs from that . thats a Loss in some worthy XPs I presume.

case 2) @ times I am just walking (no companions-->thus complete solo) , doing nothing else & there are no enemies in my sight , but I see I got XPs (chi-ching )....what is this phenomenan ? I am prettey sure others have seen/observed this too.

where is this 'Free'-XP coming from (sans any activity from my side)

As far as question number 1 goes, it doesn't bother me much since the bulk of my experience gain comes from turning in quests (especially when I take the idiot savant perk)

For question 2, I've never noticed this before except when getting exp for discovering new areas of the map, but not just at random for no reason.

question 2. as long as your weapon is out/you're in the same cell as activity, you gain xp from kills.


so if the BoS waste a supermutant, you get the xp, or a ghouls eats a molerat, xp etc.


I picked up a stack of xp yesterday when a vertibird crashed into a supermutant camp. cha-ching.
