I need character build ideas

Post » Tue Mar 08, 2016 6:05 am

I'm making a new character while I wait for Automatron to come out, and I need some build ideas, I'm thinking either stealth, or a scavenger, but I'm not sure.

For a scavenger character, leave the vault with just the Vault jumpsuit and *nothing* else. Then, only loot junk items. If you want a weapon - sell some junk to Connie Abernathy to buy one. Need bullets? Sell more junk. Need armor - sell more junk. Don't loot anything from dead bodies.

For stealth my build that ended up being the most fun was melee/pistol, I eventually got agility up to 10 for gun fu but the rest depends on you. Silenced pistols and a blade (a certain serial killers blade to be exact) and use a lot of vats. It's a blast. Stock up on 10mm whenever you can and that's about it, stick to the shadows and get close

Builds?

I always smirk a bit when i see these threads, no offense Op.

As in Skyrim etc there are no "builds"

With unlimited leveling, there is nothing one cannot accomplish.

Dungeons & Dragons this is not. :mage:

What perks/attributes should you take early? That's what "builds" amount to around here.

And they are all irrelevant. You cannot fail, the game is way too forgiving to care if you specialize naked with a machete, on Survival mode.

Again, just popping in for a giggle, carry on Troops!

For the Scavanger use pipe guns as your primary weapon, maybe the junk jet as your heavy.

How about this:

S6

P4

E1

C3

I5

A7

L2

Stealthy scavenger/craftsman, specialized in melee and long-range rifles. This SPECIAL gives you immediate access to Strong Back, Lone Wanderer, Ninja, Scrapper, and Scrounger as well as all of the relevant crafting perks and Hacker/Locksmith. Don't forget you get a free SPECIAL point early on if you look at the You're SPECIAL children's book in baby Shaun's room, and the PER bobblehead early on in Concord.

Stealth is overpowered. But still fun. I have a NINJA VATS player. I like to sneak shoot mobs with my 2 shot 50 cal, then kill them with a critical BLITZ for the final blow.
