I have seen many a transportable home, from amulets to Ashlander tents. I was wondering, if it is feasible, that a "tented longboat", which Norse would use not only for long voyages and bad weather, but from a home on the water, could be really realized?
This is the gist of it. A mod that creates a simple longboat, with a tented aft (think square Ashlander tent in the rear) that you can enter as a domicile. Inside, it would be sparse, a small bed, a few furs, a chest, and sacks. Perhaps a hanging lantern for light.
Now I have seem the static ship homes, and I love the Gnarr Mok ship home. But where this would be different, is that you would have the ability to either click on the longboat's mast or a fixed sixtant, and a menu comes up of shorelines within the game that you could transport the ship to. Nothing that would conflict with the ports and docks existing, but perhaps a league or two off on the barren shorelines, from a list of shorelines that would be helpful. Of course, in essence this becomes nothing more than another form of Fast Traveling, but with the twist that this is a home. I thought of it not for the ability of faster travel, but for those of us that are drawn to the sea, and well, there you are.
I have no idea how the mechanics of such a home/conveyence would work with the Construcfion set, but for those of us that enjoy the Nords or sea farers, I wondered what it would be like to live in game as a shipmaster in your own right. Nothing like the large Brigantines or battleships, but a longboat is something that even in the real, tactile world, the imaginative are really enjoying.
