Companions & NPCs - I want THEM to hook up

Post » Tue Mar 08, 2016 1:09 pm

Anyone else want to throw their companions together for a little romance? Don't get me wrong, I loved the romance aspect of the game (so much fun!), but seriously, I think these would be better off together:

Danse & Piper - He'd love her dogged determination for truth and goodness, she'd love to crack his seriousness and see the real man underneath that armor.

MacCreedy & Cait - They're like opposite sides of the coins from each other, both with awful childhoods (no loving parents), seen the worst of humanity, and have had lots of loss as advlts, too. As such, they're also both go-for-the-throat fighters. Two peas in a pod, really.

Curie & X6-88 - If anyone could show someone how to be a good human, it's the robot-turned-synth scientist. If anyone needed that education, it's the former hunter-killer of synths. She could teach him to break his programming, and he could see the world though the eyes of a relative innocent.

Nick & Jenny (K1-98) - Is this Nick's second chance? Jenny's cute, feisty, and a synth, too. And she has a very familiar name...

As for just "best buds" (rather than romantic companions), I could see Deacon & Hancock hanging out with a few brews, telling tall tales (who's got the bigger fish) or competing for Magnolia's attention (she could bring them both to heel), and Preston & Desdemona & Virgil talking shop and working to make the Commonwealth a better place together.

What do you think?

Personally, I would've liked to had Jenny as a companion, or at least learned more about her story. The game throws us this intriguing character but all we get is a hi and bye from her. Maybe she may reappear in future content.

OT I could see some potential relationship happenings between companions, but for some odd reason I always see Hancock strangling Preston in that picture.

me too or as a settler

there should have been far more named people (and random settlers you meet in the wilds (called "settler")) we could recruit as settlers

i dunno, some companions have respect for each other and some are clearly attracted to

for example both cait and mccready are attracted to piper but she does not reciprocate

Jenny is barely even much of a character though.

Nah, I would rather for characters not to have romance with each other. I wasn't a fan of Garrus/Taii. I don't mind friendship but not romance though. I imagine Danse to be gay while Piper to be lisbian (she has a crush on Magnolia), so it would kinda ruin it a bit for me if he starts to enter into relationship with a female. Most of the characters don't have sixuality, so it allows the player to define it. For me, MacCready is straight (hitting on a lot of girls and was married), Danse is gay, Hancock is bisixual (He has guys and girls go up to him and talk about how they want to sleep with him again), Cait's bi (she flirts with both guys and girls). That's my headcanon, companions in relationship with each other would ruin it for me personally.

In term of your pair up:

Danse and Piper: I'll cut a [censored] if Piper touches Danse.

MacCready and Cait are too selfish to be with each other. They wouldn't have helped each other with drug's problems or finding a cure. They would see it as a waste of them. Despite how selfish they are toward other people, they look for someone who would be nice and loving toward them. MacCready and Cait will talk about how they distrust other people, and you are the first person who is ever nice to them. Something that I see them incapable of doing it for each other.

Curie and X6: X6 is loyal to the Institute and loves to torture people whil Curie is short sighted and only think about helping people. I don't ever see anything come out of it.

I always thought Danse and Haylen made a cute couple. Nick's secretary seems to be very fond of him too, and it would have been cute to try and match them up and help Nick find love of his own.

I don't know, I can certainly see McCready and Cait hooking up, even if it's just for alittle fun. Look at people in real life who hook up with people who aren't really good for them or do things that aren't in their partners best interest, yet they tend to stay together for awhile anyway. That's kind of how I'd see this, they'd get together out of a connection from a common past mixed with alittle bit of lust.

I definitely see them hooking up, MacCready seems desperate while Cait would screw anything that move, but in term of long term relationship, they would definitely not work. MacCready's wife was a very nice person and like a mother to everyone back in Little Lamp. I see that MacCready and Cait both need someone to take care of them. Opposite attract is true for both of them,

Haylen has a crush on Rhys though, so I would rather see them together. Plus, they both are still BoS members.

MacCready and Cait are both the same type of character - they need an anchor to help them develop their stories and characters. Paired together they'd both just be a couple of raiders/gunners/mercenaries (albeit very skilled ones) with no likeability to speak of.

Off-topic but....Knight Rhys got dat ass man.

OT: Cait and Mac....eh, maybe, I dunno. Mac might catch something from Cait and die a slow, painful death though, so it'd be worth it. :P

X6 would love to capture Curie and get her mind wiped....but other than that....don't see it happening.

Now if we could just have an orgy....

I don't think that would happen. Haylen tried pursuing it and Rhys said no. Rhys's love is the brotherhood of steel.

Could still develop in the future. It's like with Danse, the BoS was everything to him.

Danse is a yandere and will probably kill Rhys to kill the BoS to himself.

Now I am just confused, I thought Haylen had a crush on Rhys, but that was a no go because Rhys had a crush on Danse, but that was a no go because Danse had a crush on Arthur, but that is a no go because well Arthur only loves himself.

At least that was my BOS prospective

This would make a good drama to watch on Institute TV.

Would be a better thing for the Institute to broadcast than their classical radio.

I got the impression that Rhys wasn't interested in Haylen at all, and she accepted that it was a one-way thing she felt. That should free her to pursue Danse. This was a man she looked up to all her career, and suddenly he has fallen, and the BoS ideals have made him an outcast. Her ideals, however, had never really been the same as the BoS (she would have fit in Lyon's BoS, not Maxson's) but her sense of duty kept her going. The Danse issue could very well be the tipping point which makes her choose her loyalty and feelings for Danse over the BoS. It would have been nice to pursue it that way for me, I guess - she's so darned likeable.
