The discussion of driveable vehicles

So I just watched a few new YouTube videos of The Frontier mod for the PC version of Fallout: New Vegas.

Driveable vehicles.

Driveable spacecraft in space?

Driveable vertibirds and tanks.

How big do you want it? You decide.

Fallout 2: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game lets you drive a car named the Higwayman.

I'm not sure exactly how big the video game world map of Fallout 4 is, but I'm sure it can be used to drive cars, but there should be a few rare cars that are in a working condition.

There's a mod for the pC version of Fallout: New Vegas named XRE that lets you drive cars and trucks, it's buggy and the video game world map isn't that big and it's mostly a empty desert,

So I think Fallout 4 should have driveable cars, but there should be a few rare cars that are in a working condition.

I think the motorcycles lying around in good condition might be the best option for this. They could probably get around the potholes in the roads and through the narrow alleys better than a car or truck. Also, there's an old tank near Fort Hagen, IIRC, that's abandoned, but in pristine condition. And, it might be neat to be able to drive one of those large trucks that have a trailer on them -- maybe move it somewhere to block roads or protect settlements (a movable wall, so to speak).

Might be fun to try those on for size.

tbh i do not see driving being something that bethesda would do. however i do think motocycles could be at the least the most practical thing. if anything i see mods being our only obvious way of integrating any sort of driving. i also think flying veritbirds should be a given because of the fact we can ride in them now, we should also have the opportunity to fly them ourselves as well

Player-accessible vehicles probably don't make sense gameplay-wise. It is, however, baffling and inconsistent that we don't see more vehicles being used in the game by NPCs. Fine, so tech is hard to come by for the average wastelander. But if raiders and gunners can restore and use power armour, why don't you ever see them using ground vehicles? Not only would it make obvious sense for them to do so, it could also allow very interesting gameplay scenarios. Did Bethesda not have the time? Did they not give a crap? Were they scared of being accused of ripping off Mad Max?

vehicles would probably break my xb1. since they pushed the clip plane out, i get a lot of frame lag in certain spots. i usually just sprint from sanctuary to red rocket, and about 20 meters from the river, the frame just freezes for a couple seconds.
