New PC + Rebuilding My Mod Organizer Profiles

Post » Fri Mar 11, 2016 11:05 am

Situation: New PC with Hard Drive from previous PC containing Skyrim Install + Mod Organizer Folders (with the mod files + profiles + settings etc)

Problem: My MO Profiles are empty

I'd like to be able to restore my Mod Organizer Profiles for Skyrim as painlessly as possible (you know so I don't have to set aside like 2 weeks to find/download/curate/configure my mods again). I assumed when I launched Mod Organizer it would simply read the information it needs from its own settings. Is there a way to import or restore my old configuration?

I made several backups of each profile using MO's backup function, all those files are intact.

Please advise <3

First install Skyrim, SKSE and Mod Organizer to a new folder on your new PC, then copy all the files and folders from you old Mod Organizer folder to your new Mod Organizer folder

Let's say your old Hdd is labeled D and your new PC's Hdd is labeled C. Your new installation would be in C>Program Files>Steam>steamapps>common>Skyrim and your old installation files would be in D>Program Files>Steam>steamapps>common>Skyrim

All you have to do after the clean install is to copy all files and folders from D>Program Files>Steam>steamapps>common>Skyrim>Mod Organizer to C>Program Files>Steam>steamapps>common>Skyrim>ModOrganizer. This will work only if you installed all your mods using Mod Organizer. If you have any mod installed manually (directly in Skyrim>Data folder), you'll have to install it again.
