Adding dialogue to a follower NPC.

How would I go about adding dialogue to a follower NPC? I've made dialogue in the usual way, but all that comes up are the follower prompts. What's the deal with that? It's supposed to show up before he starts following you.

The NPC in question is CiceroDawnstar. I've tried everything I can think of. I added it to the follower hello topics, I created a separate dialogue branch for it, player dialogue, misc dialogue... Nothing is working.

If you want the dialogue when he's a follower then it ought to be in the follower quest dialogue, either player dialogue or misc

If he's not a current follower then you'll have to add the dialogue elsewhere, DialogueGeneric holds most of the NPC dialogue iirc but havn't checked for him there may be a special one for DB members or possibly under the one for Dawnstar NPC's. Either way its better practice if you create a new quest and add him to it and then put the dialogue in that and make it low priority iirc.

The dialogue for him is in the quest DarkBrotherhood and DarkBrotherhoodSanctuaryDialogue. I tried adding it in the proper places in there... no results. I put it in my own quest that the dialogue is supposed to be for... nothing. I think what I'm going to do is have the reference of follower Cicero disabled for that part of the quest, and enable a dummy one that I can run dialogue on. The only thing I'll have to worry about is if someone has him as a follower and they have items on him or they changed his outfit.
