Does anybody know if the Long Wanderer perk will work with the robot companion from the Automatron DLC?

We won't know until it's released or they specifially mention it. We've gotten like one line of description on the entire DLC from beth. No specifics

I imagine the Automatron will be like Dogmeat and won't count as a companion, well i hope so as i am in love with the Lone Wanderer, as evidenced by my avatar.

Wait, Dogmeat doesn't count? Holy crap, that's awesome.

I seriously doubt that. If the robotic companion is most likely going to be a powerful companion, so why give us all the Lone Wanderer perks on top of having a killer robot at our side? Not trying to be a joy kill either, just doesn't seem likely is all.

Dogmeat doesn't count because he's a glorified suitcase. Lone Wanderer working with dogmeat isn't a precedent.

It's an interesting question.. I wouldn't automatically think of a robot as a companion. (and unless they've recorded a bunch of new robot dialogue I probably never will.) However, robots can be incredibly powerful so if they choose to call it a companion so that the lone wanderer perk affects it, I don't see that being so bad.

Nobody really knows anything more than the one paragraph we saw when it was announced.

I'm wondering in what sense the robot is even going to be a companion. I'm hoping that it works in some sense like the Robotics Expert perk, which allows you to have a robot 'companion' while still keeping your regular companion. I'd really like to see the robot companions from Automatron be usable as an additional companion on top of one of the regular companions. If you have to dismiss a current companion to have your robot companion follow you, I probably won't really get much use out of it aside from initially building it. I like the idea of having a robot companion, but not at the expense of having a human companion.
