Well, with the exception of Railroad Tycoon and the original Adventure, yeah . . . Mass Effect, the best game, with the most fouled up ending, ever sold

ME3 was really saved by very well designed and supported multi-player. Extremely surprising turn for the game known only for its epic single play . lol
You're not the only one, I have yet to complete the MQ. But I'm now dividing my small amount of game time between FO4 and The Division (which is a great game).
It's both. You can (and I do) play solo, although lone wolf in the DZ is hard, or with a team of four. It is a really good game. Just remember it is primarily an RPG and not a shooter.
Look up spiral door on youtube. It may be what you are looking for.
I may get Black Desert this evening. The big thing that hooked me onto my first mmorpg (EQOA in 2003) was the large, seamless (no loading except coaching and ports/deathgate [rez out of los]) world full of neat things out in the middle of nowhere and getting lost was quite a trip rather than a nuisance. There were all sorts of secrets to discover and exchange with people, and sometimes hidden quests to find. I've heard similar things about Black Desert, so in spite of the cash shop things I've heard (I'll just avoid using it) I decided I'll pick up the 50$ package to get the mount and pet. I also got most of my levels in my first mmo literally killing the same area of spawns over and over after sometimes fighting over camps, so the grind doesn''t intimidate me. most of the quests in that first mmo were to get better armor , do our epic ability quests, and our other ability quests and we would often overlevel then go back and do them. which you can also do in Black desert I've heard, as their quests offer character advancement and utility rather than just XP. Overall the game intrigues me since I haven't been able to become interested in an mmo since my first one, and I have tried dozens in the past 10 years or so being hopeful but always disappointed.
TLDR plan to get Black Desert Online this evening
While I wait for new contents and the Creation Kit, I'm playing Stardew Valley. The best $15 I've ever spent.
In my opinion...there's never been a better storytelling game or better story ever told than Mass Effect. Those games are masterpieces, plus the DLC? Holy moly its EPIC!
Wondering the same thing. Maybe do something about the multiplayer shooter itch. But not sure about the initial "reviews". Or any "AAA" game that does not give major game reviewers an early copy to review.
